In alot of Trouble, Advice very much welcomed
Firstly, I have opened a fresh account on QL as I dont want to use my usual I.D.
If anyone has any suggestions please go ahead and say... and yes I know what I did was wrong, but it was for the right reasons, so please dont give me grief.
Hello,
I would like some advise if possible please on the issue that has been onging with me.
I used to be a Resident in Qatar, I first came into the Country in 2003 and I was working up until 2008.
In 2008 April, I left my job, and decided to go on Vacation back home, I left my Fiance in Qatar as he was working and went alone.
I arrived back into Qatar at the end of May 2008 on a Visit Visa, In June I discovered that I was Pregnant, and in July I had a Miscarriage...
With all that happened I did not renew my Visa.
In September end I became pregnant again... this time it was a high risk pregnancy with the first 5 Months bed rest due to Placenta Previa, during this time, due to the Law, myself and my Partner married in a Ceremony and we recieved our Marriage Certificate.
I gave birth in June 2009, I have still did not go to renew my Visa as I am terrifyed of anything happening, or being taken away from my child...
I did go to Immigration at the MOI building down the Corniche, I spoke to the officers there.. they advised me to take the Medical Records and my Passport to Immigration Building near Gharafa, I went there but then they told me to go to airport... I did not go as the baby was 6 days old at the time...
I cannot register my Babies birth as I have no Visa... and as I mentioned I am anxious with what will happen...
Do you have any advice, I was stupid to overstay but my reason was valid, my Husband has been urging me to sort this out fast, and I really need to move myself not just for me but for the Baby...and I need peace.
Do you have any advice on what I should do?
Thank-you.
any update, expatintrouble? what happened? u went to the embassy today?

Good morning.... as was mentioned above, visit your embassy and seek help from there. If drac's reply is true, better pay the fine and transfer your visa ASAP.
CONGRATULATIONS in having your first baby. hugs and kisses :)
...listen to the sound of silence....
think positive, be brave, pray and have faith with God, for sure everything will be fine... always remember God will never give us problems that we can't handle.
DON'T LET FANTASY ROB YOU OF YOUR REAL LIFE BEAUTY
Thank-you for being nice! I was skeptical asking on here as I have saw alot of negativity towards people at times.
I will let you know what the outcome is tomorrow.
Truly, I think the most trouble you would be in might be the fine and I'm sure that can be "negotiated." You haven't been working here illegally and you have sponsorship available. Please let us know, habibty, we care!

Then..pay the fine, go to Dubai or Bahrain few hours and come back with a new visa!
Contact your Embassy to help you.
Good luck and kiss your baby for me! :)

The Money is not the issue... I just dont want to face a prison term!... or be separated from the baby.. this is whats freeking me out.
I know I was wrong, but I did what I thought was best at the time.
Thanks
july 2008-january 2010=18 months
18 months X 31 days= 558 days
558 days X 40 QR = 22320 QR
You have to pay 22.320 QR fine!
Then you can apply for husband sponsorship...
I wish to be wrong! :(
My Husband is here... he is urging me to go... there is not much that he can really do!
I will go to the Embassy in the Morning... and try and get the situation resolved, my concern is the baby, I just want a passport sorted, so he can leave with his Dad if ever needed, we never know what can happen.
Fingers crossed.
And thankyou, macgyver426 its nice to get this off my chest as its been eating away at me for some time.
don't feel stupid. don't be too hard on yourself. remember, you're not doing it for yourself only. you're doing it for your baby. by the way, where is your husband? what kind of help is he giving you?

Hello,
No not under the hubbies sponsorship... thats what we finally want! I am basically illegal... no visa, i came back in 2008 Summer...
I sent an email last week to the embassy with the above info, I hope tomorrow they will reply, as I was going to go to the airport immigration tomorrow... just worried that I am arrested! I am breastfeeding the baby and to be away for so long will cause issues... and i dont want to take baby with me!
Thanks for the replys... just abit scared.
Yep go to the British embassy
thats their job to advise citizens who have legal issues whilst abroad... they may send you to a good lawyer....
what is your hubby doing to help you? - cos you come under his sponsorship now don't you?
your profile says you're a UK national. i'm pretty sure your embassy can lend you a helping hand. don't be afraid of anything. take the risk --- not for you but for your baby. besides, there never was a case here in Doha that the Qatar government took the baby away from the parent just because of visa problems. you'll get over these. be strong. pray and have faith in God. there's always light at the end of a dark tunnel. keep us posted...cheers!
