if a round about is 3-lane and exit lane is only 2-lane, the vehicle coming from middle lane from R/A should go to left or right lane in exit lane???

I think its really stupid to say that everyone should exit a R/A to the rightmost lane.If the person from the middle lane in the R/A while exiting enters the right most lane then what is the car exiting from the rigtmost lane supposed to do??drive on top of the curb?? I see this here all the time..do they teach like this in driving school??

IF YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE LANE, YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE LEFT LANE AT EXIT FOR SAFETY. THE CAR ON YOUR RIGHT IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE EXIT ALSO THE SAME EXIT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO AND THE CAR ON YOUR RIGHT WILL TAKE THE RIGHT LANE. BE SURE TURN SIGNALS ARE OPERATED. AT CRITICAL MANEUVERING WHERE IS IT DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO ENTER THE EXIT, YES YOU CAN MAKE ANOTHER FULL TURN AT THE ROUNDABOUT AND POSSIBLY SELECT THE BEST LANE TO EXIT.

Rule is the same for Round about and signal.

If you are in 3-lane and exiting to 2 lane the rule is as follows.

1) Left lane - U turn or left turn only

2) Middle lane - left turn or straight (exit to the left lane).

3) Right lane - Straight (exit to the right lane) or right turn.

There is no chaos if the people follow the rule.

@ MNAVEED,

Dear, it's not matter of wrong DL or bad traffic sense, rather it's matter of wrong designs of R/As.

The inside lane (left) shouldn't be turning right at the first exit. This lane should carry round to the second or U-turn part of the roundabout.

The middle lane has the option to turn right at the first exit or continue round and should usually exit on the second right.

The lane on the outside (right) should turn right. It's fairly easy but not if you are local in a 4 x 4 who doesn't care either way as they are going to go wherever they want to!

Oh and the white lines are meant to be lanes that the car is supposed to stay in-between until you want to exit!

Dear ther is no expert answer in this because its wrong design congiguration & more stupedity from the final approval and disaster from the acceptance supervision team at construction site. (No. of lanes in/out the round about should be equal or more to the no. of lanes of the rounaboud.(Basic design criteria)).

So when it comes to users they have to judge on thier own experience for such cases.

No wonder we have so many crashes!!! ALWAYS go in the right lane????? WHAT???

It's simple people: Left lane goes left/uturn, middle lane goes straight, right lane goes right!!! Please it's not rocket science!!!! (Going into a 2 lane, then use the safest one, CHECK YOUR MIRRORS PEOPLE!)

Check which line is safe for you. Then turn. Please dont forget to use your signal indicator (Many people doesnt know the use of idicators in Qatar)

it depends on where u r heading ..

in case u r going straight:

the left lane is expected to either U turn or go left .. so the middle lane will exit from Left and the right lane will exit from the right lane

in case u r going Left:

the left lane is expected to either U turn or go left EXITING from the left lane .. while the middle lane will exit from Right Lane .. though u should have been in the left lane from the beginning

in case u r going Right:

U shouldn't be in the middle.. u should be in the right

in case u r going to U TURN:

Why the Heck u r in the middle ????

----------

Afterall .. this is just theoretical and doesn't work cuz u will find that the one on ur Right hand side wanna make a U Turn .. so don't get amazed ..

If the round about is 3 lanes and the exits are only two where you are in the middle lane inside the round you may take either left or right but make sure that your indicator is on and there are no other vehicles in the lane where you are moving to avoid an accident

By painther• 16 Dec 2009 08:35

What exactly is the rule??

Today, while in heavy traffic, I encountered this; all 3 lanes of R/A occupied & all three taking exit, what the middle lane will do???? Chaos !!!!!

You should always try to exit a round about from the extreme right side. No matter how many lanes are there.

honestly, that depends on the car on your left and on your right
