Compound or apartment?

Hi

Wondering what the advice is regarding compounds or apartments. I'm making some assumptions here....I presume a compound is kind of like a private housing estate in europe? Basically a bunch of houses with a private gated entrance?

Apartments I assume are like apartments everywhere?

Whats the difference in terms of families singles young/old etc? Any diffs in terms of facilites, pools , parking etc.?

Cheers

Well you can find apprtments and villas in a compound for eg: Ezdan 3.. which is actually more communal. When you meet a group of people which you dont know for many times, you definitely come to know each other and there by increasing your public connections as well as spend some time walking inside the compound if you have that(time). Good place for children to play around. Like a small town...

Hi there. I live in an apartment (flat) and there families staying here and well as single people and couples. Personally I think the apartment is more suited to people without kids as the options for the children to play out are really limited. The villas tend to have a bit of garden and some communal space where the kids can play safely within a gated community as you say.

Best wishes.

Some apartments are actually located inside a gated compound.

I believe the difference is that apartment is a multidwelling unit within a building.
