THE REAL RED CARPET STORY

this morning, i see posts about the new DTFF competition and the responses to it. All are mentioning about the Red Carpet Disaster. How everyone got the invitation and hoped to make it to the big place. even though very very late, I think its time to tell about that night, and how being a QLer was a privilege.

I too got an invitation and dreamt of being there. But when i realised that there was no mail coming my way, i thot this was just fooling around. It went wrong because the person, who sent us the PM about the winning tickets mentioned a wrong email address, to which we all sent the details. Unfortunantely, those at the DTFF call centre wasnt aware of any competition at all.

Even though I was so depressed about the whole mail incident, I went to the MIA grounds. While I was in queue to buy some softdrinks, I over heard someone calling this particular name of the person who sent us all the PMs. I looked around and saw this guy whos pic was in the PM he sent. I said he and he said that there was a whole area reserved for Qlers by the red carpet. He gave me a number which i had to call. someone came down in the lift and tuk us to the red carpet area! as far i know, we 3 lucky Qlers made it to there.

We also met khanan from there, who was also a DTFF staff..QLs everywer!!

thanks to all those behind the competition and who made way for us to get there. Just another example that QL community is an inevitable piece of Qatar. Its becoming a strong and unavoidable element in the Social, Economic and Cultural life of Qatar

hats off QL and the great minds behind it. And above all..all the users who made QL the place to be.

shhh.. and to all bosses who knows that their employees are on QL half of their work time and still donot block it.

finalword : I have asked the guy who sent us PM to all of us about winning, that half of the town is searching him to kill him.
