transfer of sponsorship

I just would like to ask your opinion and advice what you will do if you are in this kind of situation:

My friend is working here in Qatar for less than 2 years now….but their current company/employer doesn’t have any project here in Qatar and has been hit and a victim by the Global financial crisis…that is why the company is reducing its employees and staffs…And my friend was included to those who have been granted of NOC.. (they are lucky on the other hand…because they obtain NOC accidentally...hehehe)

My friend is now in searching of new prospect and 3 days ago they were interviewed and past it..they have given an offer letter… but the problem is…when the hiring company was understand and known that my friend and his other 3 colleagues was not yet completing the two year staying here in Qatar, the hiring officer was then told them that they will be having problem in transferring their sponsorship to that new company...and they advised to exit Qatar first then go back to process the transfer of sponsorship…

Ok, my friend and his 3 other colleagues are willing to exit, but is it legal just to exit in an GCC country because going to their country of origin will take too much time to procees their document since the system there were too slow.

Another question, is it possible to transfer their sponsorship into other sponsor without exiting Qatar? (please note that these guys are not yet completed the 2 years stay here in Qatar) Is it ok to process their change of sponsorship in just submitting their documents (i.e. police clearance, NOC…etc…)? What are the laws that may apply in this kind of situation?

Please give us an advice and guide us what should we do in this kind of scenario…

Many thanks to those who will share their expertise in Qatar Immigration/Labor laws….

I have also friend with similar situation, his visa was transferred to the new company after 1 year working with the previous one. So, no need to exit to the neighbor country...the important is he has NOC.

I have the same problem that I have join my new company and our pro has told me that I had to wait for my visa to expire this april 26 2010 because at that date I will be 2 years from my previous company.

Is there any alternative solution that I will not be required to wait until that date that I can be transfer as soon as posible?

Hello friend !

No need to complete 2 years with your present sponser.

It is not a mandatory. But completion of 1 year is MUST.

Recently, I have changed my sponsership with out exiting the country. Only your previous sponser has to sign and handover the "Sponsership" change application form.

Thats all.

This form available in all typing center for QR 10/-.

you can give both old company details and new company details in the form and after signed by both parties, then you can submit to Emigration for change. thats all.

This will be taken care by your new company PRO.

He will do this for you..

I hope this will clear your doubts.

Thks
