Repatriation - When you were already here?
Howdy, here's a scenario for you.
I know Qatari companies are meant to repatriation someone after they resign/are terminated. Is this still the case if you were already in the country upon gaining employment?
I mean that if they did not fly you here for the job, you were already living here. They still have to/should repatriation an employee?
Cheers.
Some contracts i have seen have a cluase that repatriation allowances (frieght etc) will be due only if the employee has completed 1 yr of service.
But at a minimum, i think any company would provide your return ticket and this should logically be guranteed by the labor law; regardless of contract, though i am not sure right now.

Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur.
If you signed a contract that says they will pay repatriation you should be able to hold them to it, however if you signed a 'local hire' contract you are stuffed!
coz they are your sponsor, and as per the LABOR LAW, it's their responsibility whatever happens to you even if you got terminated or you resigned.
However, if you were able to get your visa/sponsorship transferred within 3 months to a maximum of six months, then you'll be fine.
Coz after that time period, they(your employer/sponsor) will start the process of cancelling your visa. Only then repatriation process will start....
