insist on the company to initiate visas for all by some sort...here the laws for visas are a little more complicated. I myself is a victim for that , i wanted to bring my wife together with me but because of the laws i couldn't . however the earliest possible was within one month. anyways be careful when you switch over to qatar. Ask the company full details of the same and make them commit dates. otherwise you will be taken for a ride.

which visa are you talking about? Since you know that you join the company in January, why do you care how long it will take for you company to issue a work visa for you: 1 days or 2 months? You come to Qatar in January, right? so work visa should be issued by that time anyway...If you are talkng about residence permit, it all depends on your company. The fastest case that i am aware of is the RP was issued in 26 hours.. for some PROs even 3 months is not enough.. all depends...

If your company is any good then they'll take care of that stuff for you. You may have to keep bugging them about it to get it done though. If you are a private contractor then I don't know.
