I'm confused about how to get treatment at a hospital. I read on Qatar Living that I would need to go to a clinic first. Are the clinics in the hospitals? I have Cigna International insurance so that shouldn't be an issue. Any help would be appreciated.
for any medical assistance u can use the health center near ur home .. almost all the health centers are having the latest technology and having the best doctors ,.. so just find the nearest health center and u will get all the help u need from the help desk .,.
u will need a health card
so for that u will be needing 2 photographs of urs
a pasport copy
and a water or electricity bill of ur home
and also 100qrs
with all this go to the nearest health center and u will be supplied with a health card .. all the services r free and medicines r the cheapest
People often say clinic and hospital interchangably here. Often when they say clini they mean the free government clinics -- which aren't bad but if you've got good insurance (which you do) head straight to a private hospital for any kind of treatment.
There's Doha Clinic, Al Ahli, Al Emadi, American Hospital. I can't swear which ones handle direct billing with your insurance (you might want to call ahead if that's a concern), but you should definitely be able to get reimbursed for a visit to any of them.
