Hi All,

Seek your advise on the following:
I have got my work Visa from my prospective employer today. I am married with no kids. I want my wife to accompany me to Doha. My employer says that is not possible unless I am there , and they would help me in getting the RP. Only after that I can bring my wife on my sponsorship.

I want to bring her along with me. Can you guys guide me any alternate solution to this. I mean is it common that the employer can sponsor my wife also intially and later we change the sponsorship once I have my RP. OR I can get a tourist visa (i dont know for how many months they give) and later change the sponsorship.

Kindly advise.

Reg

One option to bring your wife along with you is to get a visit visa or tourist visa for her. Even this is normally for 14 days extendadable to another 14 days which may not serve the prupose.

I suggest you to get your status done and pls submit the family application sooner so that the whole process will be over in a weeks time, if everything is right.

Ok The procedure for applying the family visa once you are here is as follows.

Requiered documents

Marriage Certificate attested by the embassy and Ministry of External Affairs

Degree Certificate attested by the embassy and Ministry of External Affairs

Kahrama Bill & Receipt

Salary certifictae with NOC mentioned by the sponsor

Copy of the employment contract

6 Months bank statement attested by the bank

Take the documents to a typing center who will type the documents in which the SPONSOR HAS TO SIGN AGAIN..

Then submit the completed application form to the ministry of Labor. We can see the result after three days on the web.

We can collect the Visa after 7 working days from Office No 4 at Emigration at Gharafa.

Once the person came in, pls take them to Medical Commission for the Visa stamping. The personal need to carry his passport copy and the Visa copy along with them while going for Medical

Once medical is over, they can go for finger print. Family and personal sponsorship visa guys need to go to Azizia (Take right from KFC Round About in Salwa Road and again second right.). People need to carry the typed application, passport copy, Visa copy and the id copy of the sponcer. An Online form need to be done and can seek the help of the typing guys. We need a copy of the same while stamping the visa in the passport.

In case of company sponsorship, they need to go to the CID office near medical commission (Take right from the round about after the medical commission and again take right from the next round about)

After 7 working days, they can go to main emigration office for stamping the Visa and taking the ID card. We need to carry the passport copy and ID of the sponcer and the passport copy of the applicant together with the online form filled before going to the finger prints. The office is No 3 in main immigration.

no, there is no way to bring her with you, unless on Visit Visa,(she has to apply for the visit visa on the regular basis, as a tourist) which is valid for 1 month. If by that time you didn't get your RP she will have to exit Qatar and to re-enter it again when you get your RP.

Besides, not everyone can sponsor their families. there are certain requirements for it, such as position, salary, and some others... make sure you meet all the requirements.

what is your nationality? if your wife has a western nationality she can get a tourist visa in the airport for 28 days within that if you are lucky you can finish your RP & apply for your wife's visit visa.
