Vacation to Philippines but passport will expire one week after my departure from Doha

My vacation to the philippines will be on Jan 12, 2010, but my passport will expire on Jan 18, 2010. Will I still be issued an exit permit? I heard that no one is allowed for international travel 6months prior to passport expiry. I'm just considering renewing my passport in the Philippines due to the following reasons:
- It's a lot quicker in the Philippines. In Doha, the minimum processing time is 2 months, maximum 4 months.
- It's cheaper in the Philippines.

Any opinion will be appreciated. Thanks.

qatar will issue you exit permit cause your passport is still valid, and most probably Philippine immigration will let you in since your a citizen. question is will the airline allow you on board and risk a fine if you will be denied entry in the philippines. check with the airline.bottomline, why take the risk?renew it.

I agree with pantyhunter. It is safer to renew your passport before traveling pinas.

Kapatid, too much excitement will ruin ur vacation. It is in immigration law anywer that at least 6 mos b4 the passport expires should be renew. In ur case, di ka maka labas ng doha dahil less than 6 mos na lang validity ng passport mo. They will not issue an exit permit for u also.

So, habang may tym ka pa, go directly to our embassy and renew ur passport. Maximum waiting days for processing is 45 days. goodluck

1. you should not have no problem of getting an exit permit since your passport is validon the exit day

2. go ahead and renew your passport in your country. make sure you keep the old passport with the valid RP. upon reentry show to the imigration both new and old passport (with RP)

3. immediately ask your PRO to transfer the RP from the old passport to your new one
