Is 11k QR enough for a consultant from India?

Hi,
I'm sure similar questions 've been asked many times before and I've gone through most of the threads. However, I need to make an urgent decision and any specific advice would be most welcome.
I've got an offer of 11K QR p.m (including HRA) and 've around 1 year of experience after my MBA. Currently I'm getting around 55k p.m INR in India. Is is a good salary to warranty a move? How easy/difficult will be for my wife to find a job (she is a software engineer getting around 21k p.m. INR currently). Thanks in advance!

not bad for the starter like you. That is enough for you to live here doha. But if you can still negotiate to increase it to 15T, that would be better.

Frined;

For an opening abroad, this is not a bad package.

Come and see the situations,

Hope you can manage well.

Cost of Living is very very high, first six months u wl not be able to apply for resident permit for ur wife, ofcourse she come on visit, then try fr a job,but fr the salary u r getting back home with one year experience is good enough, here u wont save at present, wait fr 2years atleast back home then beter hike,by that time even recession also will take a beter shape.

Either you are fed up of the job you have in India or the salary sucks....OR you are at the bottom of the job chain...and desparately seeking a change anywhere/anyhow........what else would explain you taking a meagre salary of 11K QR; leaving you(&your wife's) job in India and putting yourselves in a state of uncertainty....What is the urgency....spend a year or more in India and you are sure to get a better offer....don't just hop between jobs looking at the number that is been offered...!!!

Cost of living is very high here in qatar... If your wife find a job then 11K is somehow managable...

As u have seen most of the discussions, following will be approximate monthly expenses...

Rent-1 bedroom ( part of villa )- 3,000-3,500

Elect, tel ( land line ) - 250 ( average )

Internet - 200 ( This will be less if u share with someone )

Car - 1100/-

Food and grocery - 2,500/-

Entertainment - 500 to 1,000/-

School- 600 to 800 ( average )

Medical - 500/- ( average ).

If this is your first abroad job, then my opinion is to come over here even your begining saving won't be much more...

you will have better future ....

Best of Luck!!
