I have a 5-month old RP-engineer visa. when i talked to air arabia, they told, I can go if the rp is of three monts, qatar airways says, it should be one-year old. Does anyone know about it? (air arabia is full on the day i want to travel)
The norm is 6 months, but you can get a visa on arrival in UAE and most other GCC countries even if it is not quite 6 months. I had obtained on arrival visa in UAE (through land border) when I had only a 2 month old Oman RP. Similarly, I had obtained a visa on arrival in Bahrain airport when my RP was only 1 month old.
It all depends on the check-in guy at the airline counter. They can get very fussy at times and refuse to issue you a boarding pass. However, once you manage to reach UAE you would normally get a visa with no issues.
The more important thing is your profession. For engineers, getting a visa on arrival wouldn't be a problem.
You should be able to get the visa on arrival at Abu Dhabi airport. Just check one more time with Emirates airline Main office near LuLu hyper market (D-Ring road), they can better guide u bcoz its UAE's airline.
Anyways, 95% chances are that u will get the visa on arrival. Other 5%, confirm with Emirates Airline :)
