Car Coolant
Im using a cheap brand of air coolant for my car and i need to refill coolant every 2 days or else it will be empty..a friend of mine suggest that its better to change my cheap coolant to a much expensive one..the question is should i drain first the old coolant and fill with new one or i can mix them up..?!!
tnx..
Race engines use distilled water as 'coolant'. The heat transfer capability of pure water is twice as good as that of coolant. Coolant should be added for anti-corrosion purpose only or if the outside temperature falls below the freezing point (which I cannot see happening in Qatar). I use a 75 to 25 percent ratio water to coolant. But if you lose fluid, then you must have a mechanical leak.
If you own a Land Rover, with a V8 engine, sell it right away.
Also the cheap coolant has no ingrediants in it, just colour....cats can drink it for days without dying.
Better get the radiator fixed before spending money on the coolant. There could be a problem with the water body or hose, getting an experts advice is not a bad idea.
friendly advice, just take it to the expert, bring your car to a good mechanic to make sure that your car doesn't have any other problem.Since you're telling that every two days you are refilling with coolant, maybe there's a leak on your radiator,it happens to my car before and when i bring my car to a mechanic,it was fixed and no need for me to buy a coolant everyday.Besides,it will avoid you also from any other problem on your car if an expert will do it.....
the reason you have to refill is that you have a leak. nothing else.
