I worked in several schools in my 10 years career in Qatar but never heard of this work environment. This is really a shameless school. Just recently they sacked some of their staff because they say that initially they hired un-necessary people. Now they are calling them back to join because most of the teachers have left jobs because of the physical and mental work stress in Ramadan. Iqra school didnt change their timing in Ramadan and also asked some staff to come on weekends (without pay). What a shameful attitude.
You'll find most schools don't want to pay in Qatar - it really has nothing to do with Islam.
The teacher is the one to suffer because he / she is the one at the bottom. Cuts will be made but the teacher will be expected to take up the slack - instead of making the teacher's job easier it becomes harder. Iqra is no different if cuts are to be made they don't look at other efficiences instead they try to cut back on teachers or teachers' pay - administration is an area which is severely inefficent in most schools.
Just came to know many teachers left jobs, cause they dont want to pay for Eid Holidays or weekends. What a shameless school is this? and they call themself Islamic School..:-) what a joke. Chirstians and Jews are better them.
No, they are not in financial crisis, but the management from Accounts to Principal are extremly mean and treat teachers as tarts, my friend's wife joined them recently and is regretting her decision. Do yourself a favor, Dont join, it has very bad reputation among its staff.
