How long to process the Family Visit Visa?

Hi, everyone. I've been reading all the queries and replies in this forum and I am a bit enlightened.
My brother works in Qatar and would like to sponsor me for a visit visa. He told me that the initial visa duration would be for one month only. However, he said that if I want to stay a little longer, I can file for a visa extension. My question is: How long will it take to process the visa from the time it is applied to the time it is released? I need to apply for a leave of absence from work here in the Philippines. Once my visa is approved/released, can i wait for one or two months before I fly to Qatar? Is there any expiration period when I can use the visa?

and yes...its either family visa or visit visa. i guess u were talking about visit visa.

so far i know visa process is just 3hours if its early. its Ramadan and it may take time for now...
secondly the visa u get is valid for three months (just for ur entry) and its for one month stay. if u wanna stay for more time, you need to get your medical done..and its for six months after that. all the best
