What to do if your company did not comply with your contract

I was local hired by one company here in Doha last January 2009. In regards to our contract, the transportation would be provided by the company. But to my dismay, after 2 months, they stop the driver to pick and drop me from my accommodation. I'm asking for a release just to get another job but they refused. They wanted me to send back to Philippines if I will not continue my work with them.

you raise the particular issue concerning the matter.

if they can't meet what both parties have agreed...then what really matters is your welfare. this is a sign of a slumber management... if you can find a better job then you go for it. but don't just give in. let them realise how it is to be in such compromised situation..don't suffer from their mistakes.

basically, you're poor as a servant who already initiated the burdens of such company..meaning it has no good future. try raise the issue again, perhaps it will enlighten each one of you. however. you can go to ministry of labor here in Qatar and refer such issue. i believe this is a pulic office not only for the local Qatari's but as well as for the binding internationals who render services to the developement of their community and for the best interest of it's country.

Is transportation, the only major concern to leave a job, never heard before :-)

To have a job is a blessing these days; negotiate with management rather asking for release....hard steps.
