In many other countries, Khattak, there is already a labor force available and the employer doesn't have to pay the price of recruiting and transporting the employee half-way around the world. But I don't think that Qatar wants an excess, non-indigenous pool of labor here.

I see that most people here only look from their side of the equation... You want it to happen for your own personal benefit...

Mandi has it right....

"What would be the advantage for the private and government sectors?"

And don't tell me competition!!!

Ask yourself, "Why should they? What would be the advantage for the private and government sectors?" I think you'll have your answer.

minded and accept change as imminent.

NOC itself is one form or modern slavery. Still the freedom to choose employment depends solely on the Sponsor. No more, no less.

Friends, better we never dream of NOC or FREE MOVEMENT OF EMPLOYEES in Qatar, as there are many greedy influencial employers here. I think slavery is better than this system.......

crapcircle & north_me, it's good to hear that, at least we have something to expect, so, therefore, I conclude that what we must hope is, to stop the overflowing of the money so that giving of NOC will be easy soon...

you seem to be the only sensible voice on this topic...don't you folks have any logic and critical thinking skills?

You'll get your no-NOC policy when the money stops overflowing, when there's no more open positions for all kinds of unskilled and dubiously skilled labour ;)

seems like Bahrain will be the pilot test of this new initiative of no NOC.

After a while we'll see if the rest of the GCC countries using this figure will change or if Bahrain returns to the old days.

Let's just give it some time.
