I am overseas and my resident's permit is about to expire - what does this mean?

Hi I am british, with a qatari RP that expires on the 4th september.
I am currently overseas and planning to return to doha a week or so after the 4th of september, however I don't know what will happen in this instance - will I be permitted into the country? can i simply get a business visa on arrival and reapply for RP? is there a period of grace? or something else???
Please help urgently!!!
thanks
Normally the Airlines will ask you about your visa and if you show the expired RP they will not let you board. If you get through there you will be held at Doha Airport.
Try and return before the 4th september in order to avoid some grief. Otherwise you will have to go through the whole process of getting RP again. Obviously you can enter on a tourist visa assuming you have a UK passport but this can be problematic when converting to RP same on a business visa. I would contact the guy who sorts out the RP's at your company just to double check as the processes have a way of changing every now and then.
You'll not be allowed an entry after 4th of September...i.e. after the expiry of your Resident Permit (RP). And then, you cant stay away for than six months at a stretch.....that also results in the cancellation of the RP.
