Ha, most Canadians west of the Maritimes only think that Canada starts with Ontario and moves West.

Meet and greet fellow Canadians in a forum topic titled "Canada - Toronto Group"? Expand your horizons and spread your wings beyond the "center of the Universe" (as you Torontonians call your city).

Tormak, this is not intended to be a criticism, but rather, an honest question: why would you move 11,000 kms across the world to, in your words, "restrict our circle by minimum common interest, here 'Canadian'". I can understand wanting to seek out something/someone that offers familiarity - that can give a sense of comfort, especially when being so far away from home - but seriously, what about expanding your horizons and meeting those from new cultures?

Yes, I am proud of being Canadian and would happily greet a fellow Canuck if I came upon one, but you won't find me actively seeking out only other Canadians or restricting my social circle. I can't help but find it counter-intuitive, and frankly, a little sad, when I see people who move overseas only to segregate themselves back into their "home" culture.

Tormak....you started the thread with a purpose which has been not been responded until now...BUT and a big but do not forget this is a forum to discuss anything which is healthy & not abusive.

Agree that the discussions have got diverted to a different direction but that doesn't call for asking others to leave. The right place to demand such a privilege is in the forum exclusively for Canadians....sorry, in a general forum you have to expect all sorts of comments....

Hello Fellows

I am amazed by the responses to my Forum… Thanx a lot

K, Let me make it clear that this forum is not for Discussions other than making Friends and Helping each other .

to better manage our social life we need to restrict our circle by minimum common interest, here “Canadian”. And if that means arrogance to someone, I can’t Help.

to cut it short, I am trying my best to make a group of friends and activity to make me and other to have a joyful and loyal Socializing.

If you think you share the idea, Please be active in the forum and we can plan further 

OTHERS, Plz…. Keep U AWAY…………………….

I'm sorry I meant no offense to any Indians out there. To clarify you could see India as a geographical country and what I mean by that is the Indian population is not homogenus and never has been. How many languages are spoken there? How many different ethnic groups are there? How many different religions, cultures and beliefs? We must remember that India has only existed as one country since 1947 and that was an artifical creation.

As for Canada and America, how different is Toronto from many cities in the North of the US. How different is Vancouver from say Seattle? There are more differences than similarities in my view.... but that doesn't mean they are not two different countries!

exiled saint....how much do you know India to say that "India is not really one country after all..." This is a very offensive statment and will not be liked by Indians.

and as for Canada, it is much different than United States....if you have lived in both places you see it...it's visible.

Hi Amoud....political tensions between India and Pakistan do exist but the people look same apparently. To understand the difference one needs to know the people.

Exotic...no offence taken, feel free to discuss. Till the time I came to American continent, I didn't see any difference between a Colombian and a Venezuelan or a Brazilian...but now I can tell.

Salax85....liked yr witty comment. just wait till a true Canadian reads it & you will be banged for sure...lolz

You could argue that India is not really one country after all.... I'm sure people in Kasmir as very different to Keralites and closely in culture and language to the near regions in Pakistan. Unless you are brought up in that enviroment it must as an outsider be very hard to see the the Indian in Guratis and Tamils. (apologies for the poor spelling)

As for Canada I go there often and the way its laid out it does look very similar to America..... ;-)

Yes, but they are still people, and not say Martians.

Sorry Exotic Girl has a point.....

From a different prespective..

It seems that way to you Exotic because you are clueless.

India and Pakistan have had polictical tensions between them for ages... calling them the same may be insulting to some.

Isnt Belize a district of Mexico?

If Canadians were the same as Americans, we would be called Americans wouldnt we?

If you are really from Belize, you are stupid making such a statement.
