Ticket vs Ticket Allowance

An offer I got from a company in Qatar states that employee, spouse and 3 childern are entitled to annual vacation business class travel ticket allowance (market fare). When I asked the HR about that item, they said that employee will either get the business class ticket or an economy class allowance. To me what they have said doesn't go along with the offer. Any body has more infromation about rules in Qatar

Baldrick has replied very correct, if you want your company to issue a ticket, it will be Business class or if you want to encash the ticket money you will get only Economy fare.
All Airlines are approved by IATA, means International Air Transport Association, agents who have IATA approval will follow rules and regulations,there are many agents who dosent have this IATA,they give less price means, to survive in competitve market they share their comission what they get from IATA agent with the passenger.Dealing with approved IATA agent is always beter.
IATA fair is 50%+ more than the normal fair, if my calculation is not wrong.
any idea on the relative price between IATA and ticket agencies?
I was disapointed with what they told me because reading the offer it is clear that it is an business class allowance
I would suggest you to cash out economy class fair. Most companies (govt/MNC) give IATA fair, which is higher than the actual air ticket cost in any travel agencies.
I would suggest take the Business Class travel offer much better..

There is no rules in Qatar for the air ticket and stuffs. It will depend on the offer they provide to you. i mean what offer they mentioned in your labour contract. So as baldrick2dogs said, u can either cash out economy class fair or fly using a business class. simple !
stipulated in your offer, black and white, then you are standing on a solid ground to claim it or to require such be stipulated too in your employment contract.

What they are saying is that if they provide the ticket, it will be business class. If you want to cash in the ticket, they will only pay you the economy price.
