Motorists scared by "Child Bollards"

What a load of Bollards... Seems like a good idea to me.

Bollards resembling children are being used as a traffic-calming measure outside a school in Leicester

The hope is that when drivers see the crude plastic features and painted-on school uniforms they will ease off the accelerator.

The metal figures will replace warning triangles that get lost in an array of signs

But so far residents have given them a mixed reaction. One bollard has even been knocked over, the driver perhaps distracted by the unsettling gaze of the 3ft-high figure.

However, some motorists find them almost too scary - and they have even been compared to Autons, deadly mannequin-like aliens from Dr Who.

And the RAC has voiced a concern that they will distract drivers from concentrating on the road. A resident, Henry Johnson, 50, said: 'They've got scary eyes. A friend of mine was out walking at night and was really freaked out by them. It's just weird.

A great idea. They'll bring colour to the place..

Chinese dressed Borrards at the Ramada Junction.

Some in beautiful Abayas at the entrance points at Villagio.

Maybe a couple dressed as Cops on the Messaed Road.

imagine , late night ,it's 3:00 am , u just parked ur car, and ur walking towards ur building...and here they are these statues staring at you in a freaky way...

it could be a great plot for a horror movie...

i'd call it "The plastic surgeons"

One summer night, going to the pier,

I ran into two young girls.

The blonde was called Freedom,

The dark one, Enterprise.

Abaya clad bollards would be the answer here in Doha. If they werent slowing down as precautionary means they would be slowing down to hand off their phone numbers ;)

Never work in Qatar - most nationals "in control" of their vehicle dont pay attention to REAL people why would they pay any heed to crude plastic bollards.............
