Moving to Doha soon

Myself and husband will be moving to Doha next week. Expected to be living there for two years. Have not found an apartment yet, still looking. Has been told to find an apartment near Al Sadd which has shops and is near to my husband's working place, is this a nice place to live in? Any problem for me to walk alone on normal clothing? I would also like to know any regular get- together for Singaporean working in Doha?

Thanks and will remember that in mind. Anyway, I am still looking for a flat in doha qatar, does not know how sincere and trueful are these real estate agents? My husband experienced this when he was in doha for 3 weeks, he went to see a few flats on one of the days (during his 3 weeks). The next day, he called the agents and wanted to book and was told it has been taken up(is it that fast or something else)!!

Compared to many other places Doha is a safe place...

If you check classified you will find lots of apartments for rent...there are few other Singaporeans on QL..

u can keep ur doors open when ur out

u can keep ur car running in the parking lot for hours for the AC while u shop in a mall, no one will even think of looking at it!

no one will follow u. no one will even look at u unless u want him to.

Hey, Al Sadd is quite close to the shops, it's nice but the traffic will drive u crazy, as for the apartment, Al Sadd is one of the more expensive areas, u should try Abu Hamour or Bin Mahmoud, you can wear anything Decent, long pants and T Shirts, if u don't no one will tell u anything, they'll just give u weird looks and some men may try to follow u home, so just stick with the Pants and TShirt. It's not safe for a woman to walk alone. Especially if you're walking somewhere dark, as is in every country.

Other than that WELCOME 2 DOHA

I am sure you will find an apartment in Al Saad, lots of shops there too, look here in QL Also.

Its hot here, I dont think there is any problems in walking alone. We moved here 2 months ago from Malaysia, settling down now.

All the best...
