Is This Only Me?
Well whenever i see this ''For Rent'' Section believe me i always laugh again and again. Reason is none other than very high & stupid demands for rents of flats & villas lol
Guys i have seen in qatar lot of empty flats & villas with ''For Rent'' banners & believe me or not when ever i call there yes its true they start with high demands for rents but when i dont show my intrest they immediately drop down thier high demanding prices & agree on giving them on 2/3-- thousand less than thier demand.
For example!!
-- The 2--bed room flat which was of 5000 Qr now 3500 Qr
-- The 3--bed room flat which was of 7000 Qr now 5000/5500 Qr
-- Big seprate villa which was of 12000 or more now it in 10000 ----8500 Qr. Also cotact with any rent agent you will get the true figures also.
Well im sure demanding prices here are totally fake here in QL. So that people make their mind about them & high demanding prices remains stable but in real it totally against what mentioned here In QL ...
Even demanding prices of used cars are also high in ''Car sale section'' but if u went to any market in which they sell used cars u,ll surprized with low demanding prices as compared to this Ql...
Well is this only me or anyother QL member also observed these things?
Plz post your reviews Thanks
I bet you that rents will be less than 1/2 from 1 year ago,,,and 3 months after that it will be 1/2 less again...
the property people in Qatar are in shock, and thats not a bad thing. The absolutely outrageous prices they were charging before the crisis set in were beyond belief,,,,the rente were higher than New York or London,,,,and the construction quality is pure 3rd world.
I think that its going to become reasonable finally...
STILL.................some greedy landlords are not reduce their price ,
Hello Happy Happy ... Can u plz tell me what new amount of rent your friend is paying now for his new 2-bedroom flat? Im also getting same good condition 2-bedroom falt for 3300 Qr but its un-furnished with just Airconditions. But its looking good to me so i,ll shift there with in few days. Plz tell me amount of rent your friend is paying?
Thanks
My friends just moved out to a better 2 bedroom apartment, with less monthly rent than what they paid previously.
There is hope...:)

Thanks
but they still are high.
when i left my old 2 bedrooms flat (8500QR) to a 3 bedroom one, it's price has fallen to 5500!
the 3 bedrooms, is rented for 10.000 for all my neighbours, i took it for 7500. now a new neighbour is renting at 6000!
still the prices r high!
look at the empty flats. a serious politic would fine high taxes on empty flats. so long for the towers!
There's a general assumption(not true) that QL is used among others by new residents of the country who search for a house/car/etc. on QL but are unaware of the prevailing market rates...this of course, save for a very small % of expats who think they're back home & what's online is the gospel truth,is not true for most people...real estate agents & smartypants guys selling cars are the biggest culprits but of course you call them & start with "are you joking with that price?" or something to that effect & they get the picture & talk real price after that,so no big deal as long as no one falls for it...
(I'm sure you would have done the same if they were your properties....)
exiledsaint i totally agree with you , if anyone here had a house or property in qatar and they see that people are renting houses not below 10thosand then why shouldnt they go with the flow . I guess if the prices were low from the begning then that would be a different issue
Salax you seem to angry about everything. The locals just too advantage of the situation when there was undersupply. I'm sure you would have done the same if they were your properties....
Times have changed now and the housing situation is in your favour.
"If someone is paying QR8,500 for a two-bedroom apartment and his landlord is willing to bring the rent down only by QR1,000, for instance, he would prefer to shift to a flat for QR6,000,” said another agent, Samuel.
Indeed, villas commanding monthly rents of QR18,000 are now available for QR13,000, said yet another real estate agent, who did not want his name in print."
