Will Qatar be the next?

Bahrain is on it as supported by the labor ministries across the GCC, giving expatriate workers similar freedoms to Bahraini nationals according to the Bahrain labour minister.

This is one human gesture from Bahrain labor ministry.

Hats off Bahrain.

for making this possible. This is a sign of respect for expatriate workers by giving them equality based on human rights.

systems are in place.

There should be a good system on housing standard, prohibiting illegal shelters.

By the way guys... so is Kuwait. Says, Kuwait is "determined and serious"on ending sponsorship system for foreign workers, thereby allowing foreign workers to sponsor themselves after 2 yrs of staying in the country depending on the "impeccability" of their records.

With the continuous effort from the international human rights org, this could be possible. Sure the boldest step could come from the expat workers but can we? Do we have the guts when our bread and butter which is around the level of our comfort zone is at stake?

Good move, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was more to it than we see now..

It was Alawi two years ago that said that foreign workers create ghettos and the maximum term for any foreign worker should e 6 years.

this is "normal" everywhere else in the world because it is more more effective in matching skills and suitability with occupations.....you should not have a PhD driving a truck, and your should not have the uneducated in responsible positions....

Its simple reasoning, isn't it??
