Why in every road we find 2cables laid in the center of the road

Recently almost every road i have noticed 2 cabless are laid , is it some thing to check the driving speed or track the drivers for rash driv

I'm not sure, but I think these are the sensors that detect if a vehicle surpass a red light... cheers

as already explained they are traffic counters. the figures from this analysis are being used to update the traffic models for many of the proposed road widening/upgrade schemes across Doha to ensure the proposed schemes are suitable for the current and predicted volume of traffic on Qatar's roads

If you look at the end of a cable, there is an electronic unit. I think it is a counter to determine the number of cars passing through the road.
