Dear All
I recently landed in Qatar from London via Mumbai,i am an indian national, my employer arranged a Business Visa which is valid for 1 month which will be extended for another 2 months. It has been 2 weeks since i arrived, i would like to know when should the medical take place. before coming to qatar when i checked online, it said normally the medical takes place in first couple of weeks. please advise on that. Also i would like to know whether there exists any engineering jobs for women in qatar. My wife is an engineer too and i would be calling her on a visit visa once i have my RP done. Can my wife work for some company under the visit visa, or does she have to wait untill she gets her RP done. Thanks for all your replies....cheers

there's a lot opportunity (engineering works) for your wife, but i would suggest for her to be under your sponsorship (husband sponsorship) once you have your working visa.

Most company practice are the same ...you must wait till your Visa has been converted to Working Visa...that's the time that you will go for medical...hope this will help....

even though qatar law does not permit to work holding a visit visa, there are certain companies that may accept the candidature. but she will always have better opportunities once she is a holder of valid RP.
