Wasted conversations on project meetings

Ever had a time in your work where you where brought by your Arab manager/supervisor on a site inspection/project meeting/product enquiry and you find yourself being the only guy who doesn't talk Arabic whilst your chief is talking with the clients/contractors/engineers for hours on a tiny Turkish coffee cup and not even discussing any work-related materials you brought for the said meet?
lol,, they discuss family affairs in this meeting.

.... or play "Bullshit Bingo"! (Google it, it's fun!)
And by the next day your Arab boss'll tell you "I need it now" when they never had the proper technical deal/inspection in that said meeting where you were brought in.
And, of course, your boss'll blame you for getting things delayed because they didn't talk about what needs to be explained on that said meeting.
Is it me or are they always that way everytime?

don't consider it as a waste of your time. try to see it as a learning experience. next time, you will know how to handle a situation like this...and get to do something you consider productive.
Your profile says your are Qatari and you cannot speak Arabic?
Yes, but after a while they say, excuse us, but we had to....
