Need a peice of advice!!!

My friend is declared by MEDICAL COMMISSION as UNFIT TO WORK after they sent her to Rumaila Hospital (based on the findings, she has a pulmonary nodules, positive on PPD test but negative on 3X smear culture test). They sent her to HAMAD HOSPITAL for QUANTIFERON, after almost 1 month, they declared her as UNFIT TO WORK.

Is there anyway for her to stay in Qatar?can she undergo a medication instead of sending her to her country? She needs a work.and aside from that, she dont have such history..she dont have any symptoms of having that desease.

another question is, what will be the consequence if she stay here despite being unfit to work?and how long can she stay here after declared as UNFIT TO WORK? or HOW MANY DAYS THAT QATAR GOVT.GIVING for those UNFIT TO WORK before leaving?

PLease,, We need an answers now!!!!

sorry to hear that!

PPD positive is not significant of diagnosis of TB. positive PPD only indicates that she has or has had TB.Since her 3-day sputum smear is negative, it is better for her to do a sputum culture( the problem is that this test takes no less than 3 weeks to get the result). A positive culture for M. tuberculosis confirms a diagnosis of TB. Wish her good luck!!

Once declared unfit to work, your friend can't do anything about it. It will be sooner rather than later that she should be sent back to her home country. Being declared UNFIT by Rumailah hospital means that she can be a threat to public safety because she could be infectious, if not now then on a later date. Not having a history of TB, meaning no symptoms, could not mean that she did not get TB because she can be affected without showing it.

Really very sad to read, may almighty lord give her courage to face the sicknes, but do not take the risk of overstaying otherwise she has to pay huge amount of money as fine.

Well am sorry for your friend. Sounds like she has TB scarring. You dont even have to presented symptoms to be a carrier of TB. Your friend was probably exposed to the disease, which is quite common. There is a pretty extreme regimen of drug treatment your friend can take, but is does have plenty harsh side effects and should only been given under strict doctors care.

Since your friend is a carrier and has been exposed looks like there is not much they can do.

Sorry to hear that ...

Overstaying without passing medical commision's examination is subjected to severe penalties. It will cost you a huge fine (i.e) 200 Riyals per day (as per the old regulations), as what i know the the new law is much more severe ...

Dont take risk.
