Hello all,

I am thinking about taking a Teaching position in Qatar and I'm wracking my brain weighing this out.

I have been given a list of places I could be housed in, any info the community could give regarding these places would be great.

Sports Roundabout
Sheika Ameena building #71
11094 Jawar Street, Al Saad area
Near Grand Regency Hotel

C-Ring
25 Yalthrib Street
Al Mansoura area

Immigration
Gharafa Flats
10 Khalid bin Zaid
Street 34
Near Immigration flyover

Villas: Al Jazeeraland 1, 2
Near Al Khartayat (North Road) flyover

Al Dar 2 Compound
near Landmark Mall

another thing, how is the local transit system for getting around? is a car required?

Thanks in advance for the info, this site has been a great resource for me.

I have been offered a job for around QR 25,000 inclusive of all except medical and annual air tickets. can anybody let me know about the cost of living including the accomodation for a family of 5. i have 3 school going children. how much will i be able to save from the above 25000? i m working in saudi arabia at present where the cost of living is really cheap including the accomodation. I have to decide on accepting the offer at the earliest. Pls. help me in deciding.

A car is a must - You cannot even IMAGINE how difficult life here would be without one.

Your house should be near to your place of work. If you could say where you would be teaching then we could suggest your place to stay.

If its the Qatar University then best options are first:

1.Landmark

2.Al Khartayat (North Road) flyover

3.Near Immigration flyover

To answer your last question, yes, a car is required!
