Just over a day to go......
...and the Ashes series kicks off. Whilst i am not over fond of cricket, playing the Aussies at any sport always adds spice to the meal.
For those of you who don’t follow sport the Ashes cricket series is a competition between Australia and England cricket teams. They compete bi-annually for a trophy known as The Ashes. It's a big thing as international cricket goes.
The Aussies are again, over confident with many past cricketers starting the ‘pom’ bashing with talk of a 5-0 white wash. The ones that aren’t, including scum bag Warne, have laid the foundation for a get out clause if they get beat, by insisting the ‘convicts’ are in a state of transition.
Whatever happens it will create a good deal of round the world banter...so long as us Brits can stay the course.

I am trying to figure out how this topic fits into politics, culture or religion.
Cricket is a complete mystery to me.
England have won the toss and elected to bat and are 56/1 after 14 overs.. bad start but have steady the ship for now..

On a serious note I think the English Team were pathetic with their tactics..just lost the credibility that they got by getting a draw..

I have both British and Australian nationality. Like many other xenophobic Brits you fail to realize that there are other countries besides the UK, many of which have not had there day and continue to pretend they are some sort of world power. I am proud to be Australian because my wife and children are Australian, I have property in Austrlia and have paid over six fiures in taxation to the Australian government. Every pom I have met complains about the UK and some would give anything for us Australians to allow them in. We like the Qatari choose who we want in our country, you seem to not bother. You may talk about a stiff upper lip but what about the lack of backbone the way you slowed down the last day of the first test just to get a draw. I dont say shame on you but shame on your gutless cricket team.
