PARKING CHARGES: BurJuman, the only shopping mall in Dubai already charging for parking, says it saw an uplift in sales when they launched the initiative in 2008. Until they fix the parking problem, I won't bother going other than for the occassional movie.
It's a total nightmare.
Well I am all for Paid Parking. AS for many years we are paying for even parking outside our own house back in the UK.. Atleast the chances on getting a place in CC will be good...

HE WHO DARES WINS
I was at the City Center yesterday and it was a nightmare - at 4 PM !!!
Anyway, I can't wait till they implement this new idea.
I wonder if the 100dirhams has to be spent in a single transaction, or if you could spend 50 dirhams at two different shops to get the free parking.
If people are going to city center only to spend 50 riyals, they probably need to get out more.
AED 10 per hour is a bit steep.. There is a vast difference between BurJuman and CC.
I think 4 riyals an hour is resonable with the fee being waived for spending more than 50 riyals.
Great idea:
"The centre now charges visitors AED10 ($2.70) per hour for parking on weekdays between 6am and 6pm, but the fee is refunded if shoppers spend more than AED100."
