Accomodation near Grand Hamad Avenue

Dear members

My name is Harish and am very soon to migrate to Doha for a bank job.
Am looking for a economic bachelor's shared accomodation near Grand Hamad Avenue which is where place of work would be. Frankly, am trying to cut transportation expenses by living near place of work.

Can someone help me regarding:
a. whether Grand Hamad Avenue is a residential area and will i be able to find cheap bachelor rooms/paying guest or studio accomodations there? If not then which is the most nearest cheap residential area where i can find some decent but economical accomodation?
b. Would like to know more about the availability of India provision stores and India hotels (particularly vegeterian) in Doha
c. Is bus a dependable means of transport in Doha ??
d. I will be moving with my family (wife and son) sometime in September? What must i do in order to bring my parents (Hope Tourist VISA - how long can parents stay in Doha then in a Tourist Visa??)
e. What about the temeperatures in Doha now and whether it rains, whether winter's are severe- Do i need any sweaters, jackets etc?
f. Whis is the best deal in mobile service providers in Doha - am thinking from a regular ISD to calls to India perspective too?
g. In Doha how strict are the Islamic restrictions. Do ladies need to wear burqahs etc.? I have been for an year in Dubai but felt very comfortable and free there - will doha be in similar lines??
