Hi Guys,

I really need advice. I have just been offered a job in Qatar. Base Salary of 3000 USD per month. I've got also 370 USD/m transport, free housing, free education for my kids (2 kids), free utilities etc.
Is this a good bargain? I am very well qualified with a PhD but not much experience (2 years).
I will really appreciate your suggestions.

It really depends on three things: 1) If your PhD is in a science it's too low. 2) If your institution is a university it's too low. 3) If you are getting more where you are or have another prospect with a higher package, it's too low.

For a Ph.D .... this salary is too low.... the worst part of doing a job here is...you always have to bargain. Even if its a Public Sector Organization, they'll start offering with the lowest. There should be fixed criteria for everyone.

I would say, you are getting very low pay. Free eduction for Kids means local school only. Please clarified with your employer how much they will give your children education if you are going to put them in British or American School. Those are very expensive in here DOHA.

We do some teaching as well. We got almost double than what you are getting plus car plus house plus utilities plus return flight and some more.

It also depends on what is your profession and what and where you are teaching.

GOOD LUCK and well come to DOHA.

I think Qr.1350per month for transport, free housing, free education for your kids, free utilities etc. is quite reasonable with the salary of USD.3000 which is around Qr.11000. But at the same time if you're offered from a university then it's too low as compare to others.
