Bride or Groom's name first?
I'm having a little bet with a friend of mine who is getting married soon, about her wedding invitation card. She has sent me a sample of her card however she has put the Grooms name first and then the Bride's name. I've googled this and found that, well i wont say ALL but most of the invites that i've seen has the Bride's name first and then the Groom. Its a love marriage and not arranged if that matters in the subject. I still feel the bride's name comes first. what do you think...hurry i need to win the freaking 1 riyal bet!

But again that is western etiquette.
It is the grooms name because it will be the family name of the groom that she will be using when they become couples.
whoever goes first... i go for the reception and food :D
ohh.. wateve, both names should be there.. :)

The bride's invitation card will have her name first...and groom's card will have his name first...
Smokey...are you talkin about someone who is getting married in Nov? :)
Hmm again depends on the culture of the bride and groom.
As Bride becomes before the Groom then I would prefer the Bride's name first, just my preference..

I Bet u have Bet with ur SL Tea boy for Qrs.1/- for this ? Right ? :)
It should come from the Brides parents and read something like...........Mr & Mrs #### would like you to attend the wedding of their Daughter ##### Etc etc. IMHO
Its the Printing Press name First - who had printed tat Invitation Card....:)
simple as that.us a j*w we put first the grooms name before the brides name.
I agree with Brite..In our place we follow that pattern

Well what if BOTH are sending out the invites then what? Its not like the groom is the one or the parents are the one's, both bride and groom are sending out the invitation.

Surely it depends on which party is sending the card..
If its from the Bride's side, then her name comes first..
christian tradition, groom first before the brides name.
e.g. joseph & mary nuptial..
I believe the bride's name should go first.
it's the grooms name first
