Recycling in Qatar

Hello people, I'm new in Qatar and I'm really interested in recycling. Does anybody know where I can take my separated trash? Another thing, I found a place called Qatar Plastic that apparently recycles plastic. I sent them an e-mail asking these same questions. But if you guys could let me know about a place where I can take them all (plastic, paper and cans) it would be great.

Thank you

lusitano,

With the little spanish I know, I got everything you meant to say (portoguese is a little bit different).

I agree with you, we don't feel a need for recycling, and most of us think that it's much more important for much bigger consumers (like the US). I'm sure they'll be all over it when it becomes trendy in the region, and when Dubai starts being vocal about it (We would want to do it better than them :) ).

Mila,

We don't have any official recycling facilities, but the private sector does it...

I used to see some people collecting aluminum cans, they take them to the local soft drinks companies who buys cans at something QR 0.0000X per kg. (Industrial Area)

I know that a few plastics companies may be doing some recycling.

I'm sure most of them would prefer large quantities of materials.

Ola Mila,
