Remove a Mod

What is it with these moderators removing posts?

Not that I have had one removed ...yet...but this is a forum is it not? things are asked, discussed, questioned etc...anytime you like. If we wanted to search though a website to get an answer previously recorded, I would use [mind your language] Google, not QL [mod note: the QL search is a Google search within the QL site - so it doesn't matter which you use]

More and more I see posts being removed for spurious reasons like "discussed many times" or "use the search function" etc... [mod note: this is done as it's considered better to keep all the information in one place rather than spread across several threads]

I propose we start threads to remove the moderators and post them sporadically throughout the day.. not that would do any good though...just venting [mod note: feel free to]

I find it that SOMETIMES even using the search box, the answers are either OLD (telephone numbers that no longer exist, or people who don't live here anymore) or not exactly what I'm looking for. Sometimes questions and answers become obsolete with time, that's why I ask, believe me, but I'm speaking for myself. Some people just ask what someone just asked the day before. In those cases I think is acceptable to remove those questions...

It is general internet forum etiquette to search before asking a question.

As you're leaving Qatar soon I wouldn't let it bother you too much.

Baldrick,

I have never heard such tosh in all my life...using a search box before asking a question is , what did you say... "Forum Etiquette"...lol you're not playing golf you know..

I suspect that every question asked today and from here on in has probably been asked before, and therefore what's the point of the forum?....

Question, Who is to say the answers that users get to their questions are any good. If not and the question has been asked before, under these website rules, it would prohibit a user asking it again... and therefore, as above, what is the point.....

it's only my observation mind, but it does seem a little ridiculous

I think EMN has got the point.

From http://www.qatarliving.com/guidelines

"new: The moderators of this site reserve all right to moderate this website as required in order to enforce the above guidelines. "

It's their site. They can run it how the heck they like!

This is a forum. Forum etiquette, be it this one or any other, dictates that you should use the search box FIRST before posting repeated questions.

Oh, and if you are not happy with the way things are done on this forum, you are free to leave at any time. No Exit permit required.

might be cause your question was frequently asked before.

like....

1 what are QL points for?

2 Why is pig haram?

3 do i need NOC to come back to qatar?

4 where can i get a haircut?

the QL search is very effective infact you can find your answer much faster if you search....... rather than ask a question and wait for an answer.
