Comparing to Other GCC, the rents are High in Qatar. Is there any fixed rates per area or whats criteria for fixing the rent? As we find there is no difrence between big rooms and small rooms? who is controlling this??

I think its desgusting they charge so much! Thats why half the working expats cant bring the families here to live. Something needs to be done about it!

I have to disagree with magicdragon "The rents are higher here because you get first class luxury housing with a beautiful and maintained environment and immediate services if anything should go wrong" From where I come from the quality of condos here are below basic standards and for what we are paying we get better homes with better quality buildings, amenities back home. I think its time that the rental price crashes. Doha can be more attractive with reasonable rentals.

Competition is becoming a factor in Qatar and finally owners will have to provide higher quality in order to be able to sell/rent, hence the consumer will become more powerful.

Since 2006 we've had skyrocketing rents, crippling inflation and non-stop roadworks.

Real estate agents and few greedy ppl have made RENTS unreachable/unbearable. Before it was very cheap but now for me ITS ONLY A BROKEN DREAM
