Importing a car from USA to Qatar
Hi QL people, I am looking for advise on importing a car from the USA to Doha in the near future. I would like to hear from someone that has done this or who has a good customs (Import) Agents number. The vehicle I am looking at is the same as Gulf specs and considerably less in the states than here. Thanks in advance, Simon
Hi everyone, thanks for your replies. I am actually looking to buy the vehicle in the States then import it to Qatar. The vehicles are a fair bit cheaper there, however I will have to establish import costs and duties so i can ascertain the viability of this exercise!! thanks :)
Can I ever dispute that BritExpat that we drive on the right side of the road.:)
I think if Qatari's started driving on the same side of the roads as the Brits, They will have less accidents. Just my opinion..lol

Yes cars are much cheaperm especially the SUVs. And by the way, we drive on the "correct" side.
Really BritExpat? Are Cars that cheap in US.. Can never say the same about the UK.. Plus we driveon the other side also.

A colleague imported a car from the USA. He says he saved about 20,000 Riyals after all costs..
Here's my advice ... Don't!
Put it in storage if you want to keep it or sell it if you don't. Buy a car when you get here.
