My 2 year contract ends 31 August 2009. My employer will cancell my RP and I have to leave Qatar before 10th June 2009! They now ask for banking dails to ONLY pay my incentive(bonus) and months till end August salaries at the end of August 2009. What proof do I have that I will recieve it? Do I hand them my Passport to cancell my RP? They will also keep half of August salary for 3 months! Do I accept this? What do I do?

your passport, they cannot cancel your RP.

I do not know the real reason but many companies retain a portion of End of Service Benefits/salary for the Notice Period for some time and remit to the ex-employee's account in due course.

If you work for a good company (you should know that after having worked for 2 years with them), do not worry, they will remit your dues to you. But if you doubt, claim and settle it before you give your passport for visa cancellation. While you are here, they can't cancel your visa without submitting your passport to the authorities. You have some leverage.

Insist you are paid in full before you leave. Go to Human Rights Commission and speak to them if the company insist on this method of renumeration.
