Obama Speech in Egypt Muslims are Speechless

Justin Webb: Do you regard President Mubarak as an authoritarian ruler?
President Obama: No, I tend not to use labels for folks. I haven't met him.
I've spoken to him on the phone. He has been a stalwart ally in many respects,
to the United States. He has sustained peace with Israel, which is a very difficult
thing to do in that region.

Mr Obama is one of the biggest sellers of American Christianism, and anybody welcoming him into their house is better off welcoming a genuine Christian than a phoney politician.

It shows how low these "Muslims" have sunk these days. But then that is the price of ignorance judging from the savagery that still exists in countries and cultures claiming to be "Muslims".

don't know why ppl generalize Muslims as if we are all the same. You certain can't generalize Christians, they all all kinds of differnt versions, Catholics and Protestans among others. The kind of Islam practice in the Arabia is one that backward and in a sense resembles the Dark-ages. The one practiced in America and non-Arab Africa is entirely different. For instance, the war b/w the Western extremists and Radical Musmlism in the Arabian, Pakistan and Aghanistan has nothing to do with religion, it has so much to do with power struggle. So why as Muslim would care? In fact, I supported the Ethiopian invastion of Somalia so they cripple the radicals who cut-hands and stone women to death in puplic. So please stop generalizing Muslims--we all don't believe in the same thing. For instance, what Somalia has to do with Afghanistan/Palistine, it's none of our businsess what happens there.

Do not be deceived by the colour of his skin. He didn't make it to the top post, the most powerful man on earth for nothing.

He understands the ins and outs of geopolitics and when and with whom American interest must be embedded .

It is a dirty game, only those who play their cards closer to their chest can survive.

Forget the Arab world. They are intoxicated with money, loads of it, without the right brains to figure out who is who in a dog eat dog world.

All one can sayabout Obama is he is better than BUSH/CHENY dectatorship.
but the reality is clear; until muslim poeple like somalia palastinians, algerians, egyptians and many others are left alone to choose who ever theywant as a president.
that can only hppen if WEST undesratnds islam will not provoke war without reason meaning if islam is left alone islam will leave you alone.
the core of this is PALASTIAN if israel stops biulding their home, killingthem, controlling their activties, and many ather aggresionsthan thereis posiblity of " two state".
however, israels blieve the land is their according to their bible, SO THERE WE SEE who is radical and west will not stop supporting israel, saudi arabia, jordan, and many others until they have other source of energy which frees them from being hostage to this countries.
energy and religoing are the two main point of the conflit between islam and the west.
there are westerns who supports israel bcouse of thei biblical blieve instructs them so.
but that group is getting smaller and weaker as western nations abandan religion for example; 16% of american don't have a religoin at all therefore will not support anyone becouse of religion.
if west gets other form of oil then saudi, israel and other nations whill no be supported blindly.
however, islam was portrayed as violent religion by BUSH, ALqaeda and know alshabaab.
we the muslim people we need to tell poeple about islam and show them what's realy islam.
if you read the seera and hte koran you see many times that islam lived with non-muslims, why can't we follow the path of our propthet so poeple ca follow us?
OBAMA says a lot but there is little he can do.
1) will america's step son (israel) listen to him?
2)how can he earn the trust of musilm people while supporting dictators like saudis and refusing elected goverment like hamas?
3)will he let muslim people elect sharia as constitution?
4)where is he going to start in order to stabilsh relationship between islam and the west.

there will be conflit and war as long as there is a world.
now you have north korea, iran, china, venuala, cuba, rashia, on one side. west, muslim/sunni nations, and some african nations on one side.
do you think it is going to be long before we see big world war?

why do you want Islam sharia to prevail in every muslim nation?...taking Turkey for example,,,,a well developed legal system, one that is just, that evolves with the complexities of an evolving society, and imparts the rule of law fairly,,,,why is this not acceptable?

From what I have seen practised as sharia, it is none of this....perhaps best explained as a holdover from an old peasant society, that cannot meet the intricacies of modern live, whether it is personal or public law...

When I see videos and read about what is currently being done with sharia in Pakistan, or Afghanistan, or Africa, it certainly makes me never want to see it practised anywhere.

Just my current thhoughts on this and I stand to be corrected.

It was a superb speech by a great orator. He focused on many issues and barely touched others - especially human rights in the region.

It was good to hear him acknowledge past mistakes also talk about consensus rather than unilateral action.

The commitment to Israel was reitterated, but there was also hope of a little more flexibility.

He has promised a new beginning. I sincerely hope that this is the case and we can look forward to better times in the region and around the world.

The Bush administration is labled a dictatorship by many.

The Obama administration is trying to open a dialogue with the Muslim countries, which is a different approach than the previous administration.

We (Americans) are damned if we do and damned if we don't.

It's impossible to make the masses happy,so whatever the present administration does, it will never be enough.

I think Uncle Sam’s attitude towards Islam nations will never change but can be remodeled to soothe the sleeping Arabs to get the job done, Arabs who seem only to see what is moving right before them but not think about what went by or may come in the future. They let down Muslim world; they let down Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Palestine, Turkey, Somalia and so on. So who cares what Obama is going to do, a wolf is a wolf whether black or white!

Believe or not believe God is great.believe or not believe

American government will never accept the muslims to follow

or to rule themselves the islamic sharia.so what is relationship

between america and muslims are you talking about.Whether its the Obama

administration or bush administration it has no difference.

Believe me we want the islamic sharia to prevail in every muslim nation,so

how do the obama administration percieved that...???

How come you have not added Somalia, Lebanon, Egypt and Tunisia

to the list? How about Iran? Pakistan? The list continuous.

Democracy is not set of rules to follow, it is schematics designed

by the westerners and when it comes to the Muslim world, the rules

are made by outsiders and can be changed as needed.

The mere fact of choosing Egypt for this occasion- one of the dictators

of the Arab world- is an example of the priorities of this administration.

Chavez and Ahmedinijad elected by their people are called dictators and

outcasted, and this dictator is dignified. One does not need to dig deep

to understand how geopolitics work in this part of the world. Do what we

tell you to do, and we will do the rest of the job, even keeping you in

office however long you want, and that formula works well in the Muslim

world.

this President wasn't talking "at" Muslims, he was working to engage "with" them. . In this context, I fear that what may be lost is the fact that the President was also talking to us - about what we need to know about Islam and our relationships with the many parts of the Muslim world. Fixing our side of this divide will take some work.

I know not-so-extremists groups are trying to talk to the extremists and trying to exposing them to the needs of the present world....

But These kind of news should be highlighted and made known to the rest of the world...

That shall do better to the image of the people and religion in general than trying to convince rest of the world about not generalizing what they see.. or rather shown......

Of course discrimination of any kind any where is wrong.... but eliminating it from the root cause shall do more good.. than for trying for a immediate solution...

In fact, in the last several years, Muslims, especially in America came under attack both literally and metaphorically. They were subjected to all kinds of discrimination from mainstream institutions while the right-wing groups slandered them unabatedly
