Respect to Traffic Laws
Being new to Qatar, I am surprised and still trying to solve the puzzle why drivers don't respect the traffic laws on the road, especially when they are in circle / roundabouts. I have been experiencing for months that almost 80% of the drivers change their lanes while they are in roundabouts, committing such crime without knowing what they are doing!!!
Oh for goodness sake.. Qatar has 800K expats and most of the offenses are commited by locals ? - GIVE ME A BREAK
Good point Brit.. Yeah blame it on the Locals..:)

HE WHO DARES WINS
most of the people doing that are the host of the country you are in. whereever country will that be. bec foreigners afraid to do and commit violations and pay too much money.
have you seen the total wrecked cars in Doha? what kind of cars? Hummer, BMW, Benz and after the accident they'll just leave it on the side of the streets. :D lol.
Be careful and watch out.
You need to drive expecting others' mistakes (whether carelessly or ignorantly) and be prepared all the time..
Many lives were lost due to carelessness unfortunately despite the newly introduced strict traffic law!
why not they respect! most will sure respect not from heart but from fear of FINES...!!
welcome to Qatar!
No one respects the laws here because they are not enforced. See threads on smoking, seat belts, driving while on the phone, etc etc etc
In Rome do as the Romans do

The correct way to use a roundabout is to change lanes as you go round it.
But not in the way people do it here.
