POSSIBLE JOB OFFER IN DOHA, QATAR

I am a Filipino guy who applied for a librarian position online (www.jobsdb.com). The name of the school is Asian International School which is located in Doha, Qatar. I've recently had my online interview with the Manpower Coordinator who is designated here in Manila. I've checked the status of the school in Doha online and still nothing appeared on my search. During the course of the interview, the coordinator mentioned it is a new school in Doha. I've asked the coordinator about the manner by which they do the recruitment process and also the agency they represent in the Philippines. All she said was that she isn't the right person to answer it and they don't have an agency here in the Philippines. All she does is manpower pooling and contacting all the shortlisted applicants.
They have scheduled me for an online panel interview with the Board of the said school on Thursday and I am looking forward to it.
Any thoughts about it? I hope I am not into scam or something...

By the way I'm applying for School Librarian in the said school. I've passed one of their requirements of 5 years experience in the field.
She also mentioned about my expected salary for the position. I have given her a range which is 30,000 pesos - 60,000 pesos. Would that be reasonable enough? This would be my first job offer abroad and I do not have any idea about the compensation package. I want some good feedbacks... Thanks..

kabayan...i know how you feel..you are very excited with the possible opportunity ahead of you...BUT don't get ahead of yourself...concentrate on the immediate task before you...you said that you have another interview...prepare for it!

about your compensation...30-60K PHP is big question...

is that the "takehome" pay??..cuz if it is then it's not enough...the cost of living in qatar is expensive.

-accommodation bedspace (6-8h R...that's 8-11k PHP)

-accommodation single room (2-2.5k R...that's 26-32k PHP)

-transportation (depends on the distance...so let's put it at 5h R (6.5k PHP)

-electricity/water and food (1-1.5 R...that's 13-20k PHP)

do the math...

so unless they will provide the accommodation and/transpo

...i think you should pass from this opportunity

GOOD LUCK!

By the way, I've had bad experience with JobsDB with somebody claiming to be their recruiter offering me a vacancy in Singapore. If I recall properly, I had applied for that job via either Monstergulf.com or Gulftalent.com...cant remember which. I complained to the website. JobsDB, as far as I know is a reputed organization but there are some cheats trying to exploit its name. Be careful before you pay anything.

Asian International School? Never heard of anything by that name existing here or planning to open. Ask your manpower agent who are the local sponsors in Qatar. If it's a local company, you can check their website.
