I'd like to know how long it will take to drive to Muscat, and how long it takes at each border? How many kilometers are we talking about?

I assume the route would be Doha - Saudi - Abu Dhabi (Sila border) via Al Ain - Muscat.

Reach Salwa road border , travel to Abudhabi if you take right from Abudhabi can take Al Ain Border or travel to Dubai take Emirates road take right to Oman road Al Ain- Buraimi- Ibri- Nizwa- Izki- Seeb(If you need From Seeb You can take Turn to go to 1000 KM Ahead Salalah) Muscat. Nizwa Seeb roads are now double roads. beware of Sandy winds and camel. People are very nice (Pure Omanis)Expats i dont know.

do not take the road that goes to Muscat via Nazwa . From Omani border, drive to Seeb Road/highway. This will take you straight to Muscat

assuming you will be driving at 120-140 kms/hr, here is the break down:

- Doha to Abu Dhabi should take you about 7 to 9 hours including border checkpoints (depends on how busy checkpoints are- in weekends they are)

- Abu Dhabi to alain (borders Oman) should take an hour or so.

- Alain to Muscat is about 400 Kilometres. Should take around 4 hours.

IMPORTANT:

there is a very dangerous road once you enter the Omani border. I believe it is near to a place called (nazwa- not sure about the name).

This road is very dangerous and people made horrible accidents there. Oman in general is of a mountain type country and roads are not perfectly plain.

Be careful and have a pleasant trip.
