Can somebody please tell me the prices of brand new basic models of Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4 ??

Which one is better in terms of technology & resale value??

How much difference approx would be there in prices, if I go for 2008 model from the showroom itself, if available??

Thanks a lot for your help !!

Hi Sadaf,

I read your post regarding buying a Honda CRV or Toyota. It is totally your choice, but if you are interested, i am selling my Honda CRV. I bought it last month brand new from Honda Showroom. below is the detail

Model September 2009, Color Olive Green. 1800 KM. Price is fixed: 95000/- Qatari Riyals. Single user (me). 1 years Insurance from QIC till (10 September 2010). Road Permit also valid untill 10th Sep 2010. Life time Honda Domasco Warranty. 3 Years Honda Warranty. 2 free Services valid. on 1000 and 5000 KM.

and I suggest you to try this car out, since you would not have to spend 5000 of insurance and 4 thousand of registration again.

i got a crv a month ago.

it beats RAV4 in:

slightly cheaper

seems more luxurious

better interiors finishing, materials, design.

superb quality of service(sales/after sales)

it loses in:

slightly lesser re-sale value

expensive spare parts/maintenance

weaker in power (not high acceleration)

i doubt you'll find 2008 models still there.

tell me if you have other questions, i still have the data fresh in my mind

Go for Honda CRV. I have a 2007 EX and I like it a lot.

I had it for 24800$, 200$ less than its Toyota Rav4 counterpart.

I just don't know about the prices there in Qatar but its definitely a few hundred dollars cheaper than Rav4 here in the US.
