Electrical plug advice please
Can someone PLEASE help me.
I have a tumble dryer with a pre-formed 2 pin plug (see picture attached). The plug overheated and melted into the electric socket. I have had the electric socket replaced, but do not want to purchase a new tumble dryer unless I have to.
My question is, can I cut the 2 pin pre-formed plug off the tumble dryer, and re-wire the 3 wires (earth, neutral and live) to a standard 13 amp 3 pin plug?
Yupeee.....
Party!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you can manage to buy a british standard socket-thats the common 3-pin plug you can usually find here... select the one with built-in 13Ampere glass fuse... that way... that would bit secure than without it... fuse will trip off automatically if in cases there will be electricity outran or shortage or whatever instead of burning the plastic plug insulator which will cause fire...
TIP: the connection pattern is the same as u'd mentioned above..

Thanks everyone, it's set my mind at rest before I press the 'on' button :)
Brown - live
Blue - neutral
Green/yellow - earth

Yes you can do that just make sure it is wired correctly
Yes. I've done that with all my appliances out here.
Yes you can but take care with earth, neutral and live when doing the connection

Yes you can. Unless the fired plug burnt out your tumble dryer.
