Dear All,

i just want to share this bad expereince with you all so that in case anybody is in need of such service to be well prepared...

i was having a problem last evening with one man who blocked my car by parking his car behind mine. i had no idea who this man was and hence waited for approx 45 mins hoping for him to come but could not wait longer and hence called.."999" to seek theri assistance.
first i only asked the mobile no. of the driver by giving the police the vehicle no. and the police said..."i will check in the system and will call you back". since i did not received any call for 15 mins i again dialed 999 and again explained the problem then the police said that they will send somebody right away.

no police shown-up for almost one hour and after that..i again called 999 the again explain the problem. this time the policeman told me to go to CAPITAL SECURITY DEPT. and i went in an TAXI to capital security...(i took all the pictures so that it will be easier for them to understand). three policeman stopped me to ask what's the problem and i explained it three times to three difference people...to know finally that they are not the ones to handle this case and i should go to the Traffic Police....

having no other option, i went to the traffice police--again explained them the problem showed the pictures etc....and WHAT!!!! the police said " PLEASE CALL 999"

is this the service usually provided by the government servants ?? this frustation will result in crime as all dont have the same patience!!

anyways just thaught of sharing this bad expereince to all

regards

The real Qatar is exactly what you experienced!

It happened to me when I went in person to that "CAPITAL SECURITY DEPT" and it will happen to anyone who will attempt to disturb their rest!

plate of the car. Their system is linked with all Govt. depts incl. Traffice dept.

In normal case, they will not provide the number to others. They call the vehcile owner and ask him to remove his car, if not reachable they send police mobile at the place of incident.

I suggest you log your complain on www.moi.gov.qa

"The Ministry of Interior has recently formed Rescue Police Department "Al Fazaa" for achieving security, protecting the safety of the society and for maintaining law and order."

Next time you ask for 'Al Fazaa" police.

just a question, so if 999 is not helpful in a situation just like what the poster of this thread had, does anybody know the helpline number of the traffic police as this situation happens some times in our reserved parking lot.

I wish if i had only one of those pick-ups, and being more wishful that this guys parking really behind me not blocking me from the side. So I will hit his car and make him think next time thousands of times before he do such a thing. Guess he will park his cars miles away and walk instead next time.

It is really irritating the think of how come that some people would not use their minds before they act or speak or think of what would happen if this guy needs to get his car for an emergency purpose.

Make you think sometimes if common sense is gone like forever ...

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. (Gautama Buddha)

well i can understand what happened with you and how you felt..but i had a different problem for which i had to go to capital security department and trust me i met that police chief and my problem was solved within 5 minutes.another problem happened when my friend's mobile was stolen from his car and we had to actually visit different police departments on different location and in the end they simply said its our mistake to leave the mobile like this in the car.so my friend this happens every where ....sometimes you find a good person and u get ur work done so u feel like this is the best police in the world and when this happens which happened with u and me we simply think that this is the worst police in the world...its all part of life man...so just carryon with ur life.things will never change buddy.

I also have had the same situation and I took pictures of the car and sent them to MOI via their website. MOI did respond to me and told me to call 999 the next time it happened and they would tow the car away.

999 is for emergency situations not to sit and watch ppl cars where they park.

you were suppose to call traffic dept help line next time call them and they will transfer you to their man on petrol in that area which will take 5min for them to reach you.

NOT 999 DUNCE.

...it seems 999 are the ones who need serious 'help'

I think you have to dial 999 in case of genuine emrgencies like accidents, medical emergencies, robbery etc etc. I don't think yours was a genuine emergency. Well, that is IMHO only. Even in case of minor accidents police take 2-3 hrs to reach.

But if it is a question of life and death then the police, ambulances reach there in no time. And I have a first hand experience of this, when a 3 year old had fallen from 2nd floor of the building.

Everything's gonna be alright!!!

Have experienced a closely similar situation sometime last year with minor accident. The police will never come. You have to come to the police station. The public admitted that.

very worst experience by you but dear It happened to me more than 3 times and the problem was solved within no time when i did the same by calling 999 and explaining the same situation with me.

.

I only have one complaint to MOI that the operators are not MULTI LANGUAGE and they only know ARABIC. For this reason, whenever i called them, i have been asked 3 times to wait until any asian guy or english speaking guy understood my problem and solved it too.

.

Reading your experience, I would say that it might have beeen your UNLUCKY day otherwise I did the same what you have done by just calling 999 and explaining them my problem of DOUBLE PARKING. It was solved within 15-20 mins.
