How come there is never a storage room in apartments or villas?

Have you guys ever wondered how come they never put a storage room in apartments or villas? Is it an unimaginable thing to think that one would need a little space in their house to put away things people want to store and not have displayed in their living rooms or shoved under their beds. Even something as basic as a mop or a vacuum cleaner, where do you keep it.

I've lived in 3 apartments and 1 villa and of course looked at plenty others. Never did I find a storage room. The question was posted after a bit frustration so excuse the pointlessness of the issue :o)

I agree with Ahmad

I have lived in 2 compound villas now. Neither one had an inch of storage space. We use our maids room for storage. Maybe they don't build storage because qataris don't have 27 boxes of christmas ornaments!!!

I've got to agree with tarzan! I have a huge store room. It's a 2 bed apartment and I'm sure some folk in the building will be using it as a 3rd bedroom despite having no a/c in it!

My friend i dont agree i had been living in a villa for last three years in wakkrah area. I had a spacious store in that. My friends even living in such flats where they have a good store in them.

In an aim to maximize the more functional parts of the apartment or villa, maybe they have overlooked that.

Sorry you are in Qatar where the foreigners rent apartments so why give away storage space?

rent a house and pay through the nose.
