New Puppy in the family!

HI yall!

My kids and I found a stray puppy yesturday in Wakrah Park, and ....took her home !!! Hurray! We were waiting so long to decide the right time for a dog, but Missy came to us...she is very shy and quiet, all black with 2 brown dots on the eyebrows and brown socks Paws.

We had a great first night. She is adjusting quickly to us and with new sleeping arrangements, leash walking and all... We took her to the vet today and all is good.

Just want to get some support and advice (its been a while since i had a puppy.. and now i also have 2 kids)
Maybe let me know which parks allow dogs?
I am super nervous about leaving her at home and if she makes noise that might anger the neighbors. She is great in the car but i might not be able to bring her everywhere with us..
Any advice for the screaming left alone puppy? I am mostly home anyway, but usually go out in the afternoons with my kids.
Thank you in advance.

And if you want a stress free run on the beach once in a while, a day out in Zikreet is a must!

Good for you! I hope she won't mind me saying this but if you have any questions about training, Xena is the most effective dog trainer ever. Via email she has helped me sort a few difficulties my dog was having and I know many people she has helped. It is well worth hiring her for a session on basic training and teaching you how to be boss. In my opinion, if your dog knows you are the boss you will not encounter many of the problems having a teenage dog will give you, especially the issue of having visitors able to come to your home without the dog believing as top dog, he must deal with them. Good luck and bless you for taking a stray instead of looking for a "designer" breed, JJ

Thank you Someonenew...

I do try to take her and my kids for a walk. we found a safe area around my building. They all crashed after playing so much and slept well!!

I am also enjoying having her in our lives.

Thank you Mandilulur,

Those were good advice. We left her in the large bathroom with her pillow and teddy bear and some music and when we returned she was quiet and sleeping and the bathroom was as we left it..

She is great !

She had a good night last night also.

She woke me up at 2:30 to go to the bathroom and then back to bed. She is smart.

Thanks again.

Try to play with her half an hr before u leave to go out, that way she'll be tired and sleep off.

"Ali Baba and 40 thieves" are now "Ali Baba and 30 thieves" ; 10 were laid off.

What a wonderful family you are to adopt a stray. I hope you all live happily ever after! When you leave the house, make sure she has a chew toy to keep her busy and if you leave the radio on she won't feel as lonely. Put a dog bed or blanket in her sleeping area or consider getting a crate for her to sleep in. Introduce her to the neighbors so they will think she's cute, not a nuisance, if she barks. Good luck!
