Is it possible (and if so how) can I import a 2001 "Right Hand Drive" BMW X5 from Austalia to Qatar?

I am considering importing a 2001 "Right Hand Drive" BMW X5 from Australia to Qatar for personal use during a period of employment in Doha.

My intention is then to ship it back to Australia when my employment ends.

The reason for doing this is to avoid the multiple transaction costs of selling, buying, selling and buying similar spec cars over a two-three year period and because I know that I will eventually need to end up with a Right Hand Drive vehicle when I return to Australia.

Please can anyone help me to discover whether it is possible to import a Right Hand Drive car to Qatar and, if, so, how I would go about doing it?

Many thanks

Thanks - I really appreciate all your answers.

I think I'll sell up in Australia and buy again in Qatar.

All the best.
