The Muslim Jesus

Bastook
By Bastook

Leading theology scholars examine the role of Jesus Christ in the Islamic tradition, revealing the two faiths have more in common than is generally realised. Muslims share the Christian belief in the Virgin Birth, Christ's status as the Messiah and his ability to perform miracles, but reject the biblical account of the Crucifixion

Just to comment on this..

Quran, muslim's holy book, states that God has preferred Maryam (Mary) among all women who were before here, during her time and those who come later.

It also states, Jesus's creation is similar to Adam's. both were created by God without fathers.

This is what Quran says.

Believing in Jesus, that he was the prohpet of God is something a muslim must do.

As someone pointed earlier; muslims believe Jesus was not killed and hanged on the cross. Muslim's believe he was raised by God and shall return. I think God made another man look like Jesus and he is the one who was killed.

I just want to express what muslim's believe in, realising that Christian's might have different beliefs.

Good topic bastook.

There are no catholics by or since birth. They have to be babtized to become a member of the Christian church! You normally don't do this to embryoes!

Nice answer, Adey!

Catholic since birth...i WAS once a catholic, until i became a FREE THINKER recently. A believer of Nature God, but not of the REVEALED RELIGIONS.

confymum...Look in the Bible and see how many times the word "SON OF GOD" was used, even in the Old Testament...and the words "CHILDREN OF GOD" in the New Testament. Don't tell me that a Child of God is not a Son of God (unless she's a girl)...it wouldn't make any sense...if not thru Jesus, you mean anyone who died before he was even born didn't make it to heaven??? What about the Hindus? The Buddhist? They don't believe in your precious Jesus...what happens to their souls???

Read again your book and tell me if all righteousness was being taught there...from the Bible God killing innocent children for the sake of the "Chosen people - Israel". The world didn't came from Israel...and look at how small the country is to put your faith on a story created by them...Go teach your children about the FURY of the Bible God...that if they did not help Israel on their cause, they will be killed because they are the "Chose People of God"...it's in the Bible...Bible God killing and allowing brothers and sisters to have sex and multiply...is that the kind of book you want to raise your children with???

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

"Why do christians believe in jesus being god"

For the same reason that muslims believe that the prophet had a revelation from the Angel Gabriell in a cave, did a night flight to Jerusalem on a horse and ascended into heaven to negotiate with Allah about how many times a day to pray.

and

that hindus believe that the world is carried aloft on the back of a giant turtle

and

that Australian Aboriginals believe that your earthy existence is not real and that you are just part of the creators dream.

And why an atheist does not believe in any of these as no convincing proof of such things has ever been brought forward.

Simple really

"Deaths in the Bible. God - 2,270,365

not including the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the

many plagues, famines, fiery serpents, etc because no specific numbers

were given. Satan - 10."

salman, Jesus did say that He is the son of God. According to Him, no one could come to His father without first coming through Him. He mentioned that his kingdom is not from this world. When he was 12, he stayed in the temple and when Joseph and Mary found him there, he said that he should take care of his father's business. When he started His ministry,he got mad because the temple was used as a marketplace, not fitting for His father's house.

Why do christians beleive in jesus being god even though in the bible he doesn't say that he is god and worship. And there are more historians (non-muslims) sayin that jesus was not crucified than historians who say they were.

Cuz if you were to ask jesus in that time that which relegion he followed he would definetly say that he follows the religion in complete submission to god translate this to englishand its called islam. and i dont remember where but i read somewhere in the bible that he was a warning to ONLY israel.

However, please read my response again..

Quote again “the Noble Quran (the true book from Allah for all human being, which is NOT at all tempered and modified to DATE and cannot be changed as Allah directly is protecting His statements) confirms that the belief (Deen) of all the messengers is the same" . Close quote.

So this is not me saying, and hence all the rest comments from your end are not valid. And again as i said above quote again "You are welcome to do your research and confirm the statements from the Noble Quran (the last book of Allah for ALL humans to get benefit from and attain pleasure of the Lord, Allah)". Close quote.

Summary: there is no you and me or i win or you lose...it is what Allah the Exalted wants and we all are and should accept it from the beginning to the end without ANY DOUBTS...

(The word Islam stands for: Submission to the will of Allah without any doubt peacefully)

The clarification from the Book of Allah (Noble Quran) should not be taken offensive...You take it easy..

I shall refrain to respond further to avoid any confusions or misunderstanding and invite all to read the Noble Quran to clarify the doubts on the beliefs of the messengers of Allah.

Religion doesn't play a role in Salvation. Religion is POLITICS. PERIOD.

Division among Christians = Politics.

Division among Muslims = Politics.

All divided sects/groups claim that what they believed in will save them.

Such full of crap. Why would there be division among your religion if it's not about politics?

Jerusalem IS NOT A HOLY LAND. Jesus is NOT GOD. The Bible is all exxagerated facts used to entertain readers...just like a newspaper...where facts are mostly exxagerated.

It's not because things are difficult that we don't dare, it's because we don't dare that makes things difficult!

"So they all followed one true religion that was and is Islam...."

You call it Islam, and i call it Christianity...followers of Muhammad practice Islam, followers of Jesus practice Christianity...how HARD is that for you people to understand? Why must u come here and tell us that we are all born muslims or what Muhammad said is the ONLY way to be living? Cant u see that itself is a insult to Christianity? I can say Jesus came much before Muhammad so that makes YOU all Christians first. We do not follow your Muhammad's teachings, we believe in Jesus Christ and what he taught..live with that, deal with that...and stop bothering about other people's religions and if or not they are going to go to heaven! You go pray five times a day if you believe that will take u to heaven i'll go sacrifice a Goat as i believe that will take me to heaven OK?

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)

Hope you doing well; the Noble Quran (the true book from Allah for all human being, which is NOT at all tempered and modified to DATE and cannot be changed as Allah directly is protecting His statements) confirms that the belief (Deen) of all the messengers is the same.

I took the liberty of translating the names of the messengers mentioned in the Quran in English to be more familiar.

Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Idris, Ishmael, Elisha, Job, Lot, Noah, Saleh, Shoaib, Solomon, Jacob, Joseph, Johan, Dhul Kifl, Hud, Elias, Zechariah, Moses, Aaron, Jesus and Muhammad (Peace & Blessings to all)

(Some of the names might have been missed and are not mentioned in sequence of arrival as per the timelines/history, due to my mistake as am writing the names from my memory, please excuse that)

So they all followed one true religion that was and is Islam....

You are welcome to do your research and confirm the statements from the Noble Quran (the last book of Allah for ALL humans to get benefit from and attain pleasure of the Lord, Allah)

Hope this helps & Allah knows the best

"A lot of Catholics are now doubting the crucifixion etc. Interesting debate. "

May I know where you get this idea, comfymum?

Indeed, Catholics have doubts about some of the policies of the Church but never about its faith ie..crucifixion. How can one doubt of this when this very event (and the subsequent resurrection) the faith (Christianity) is based upon?

please don't post things on forum topics that are against forum rules, such as religous tolerence, harmony, stuff that makes you think positively or invites healthy debate.

You should stick to more popular topics such as Islam bashing, qatar bashing, greatness of India, savagery of Sharia, in short, anything that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Look how unpopular your topic is. Posted at 10:30 this morning and only only four responses.

But straight way DENY the doctrine of JESUS being GOD, SON and Holy Spirit....
